Carleton Fish Club

Carleton Fish Club was dedicated to bringing people together to play a card game known as Fish (also known as Canadian Fish, Literature, or Recollection).

There are four suits: clubs (♣), diamonds (♦), hearts (♥), and spades (♠). Each suit is distributed into either a low or high set. Typically, the low set contains the integers 2 through 7, whereas the high set contains the integers 9 and 10, the jack, the queen, the king, and the ace. The 8s and jokers constitute an additional set which consists of the 8 of clubs, the 8 of diamonds, the 8 of hearts, the 8 of spades, the black joker, and the red joker. Thus, there are nine half-suits to compete over.

The objective is to win more half-suits than the other team.

Fish can be played with 4 to 12 players, but it is typically played with 6 or 8 players in two teams.

When possible, we would convene in person to play. Otherwise, we would convene remotely and use this website.

More detailed information about the game can be found here.
